A Prayer as you await a cancer diagnosis

I pray for peace and comfort for those in the in between.
You know you have cancer, but you don’t know the stage, the treatment, what the future will hold.
This is the prayer I prayed while awaiting my breast cancer diagnosis. Glory to God, I am now cancer-free after chemo, surgery, and immunotherapy. I pray alongside you for peace, health, and an abundant future.
Lord,
I give today wholly to you. My time, my energy, my plans for my future. Give me peace that surpasses all understanding as I receive the medical opinion on my cancer.
You are the author of this world and my story. You know the beginning, the middle, and the everlasting end. In Matthew 6:27 you tell us, “Who can add an hour to your life by worrying?” and in Jeremiah 29:11, “‘For I know the plans I have for you’, declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'”
Please let me walk with the confidence that my Savior has already paid the price and nothing is too big for God.
Let me show your love to everyone I encounter; the nurses, the doctors, and others awaiting diagnosis. The patients are anxious and the medical staff are weary. While they get to celebrate victories of defeat of cancer, they also have to shoulder the heartache and loss of sharing life deterring news, far too often.
Lord, I denounce cancer and boldly state this is not my story. My story is of life, abundance, and time to continue serving you in this world.
God let this whole journey be a light shone on your goodness, lovingness, and faithfulness. Your ways are perfect, please let me relax into them.
Be with my family as we receive the news. Give them peace, comfort, and words to support and encourage, whatever the news may be. Let them feel that they are wrapped in your arms and loved by you.
Though this is a dark period of life, I thank you for your goodness and grace. Let me fix my eyes on Jesus and any blessings that arise out of these circumstances.
Amen.
